Islamabad: A senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party said on Sunday that Imran Khan has vacated the prime minister’s official residence minutes before he lost a crucial no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.
After Speaker Asad Qaiser handed over the reins for the National Assembly to Ayaz Sadiq of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, it looked like the vote on the no-confidence motion would go ahead.
As a result, this meant that the 69-year-old, the cricketer-turned-politician, would have to leave the Prime Minister’s office.
PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan tweeted that he sent off Khan from his official residence.
“Just sent off Prime Minister Imran Khan from the Prime Minister’s residence. He walked out gracefully and didn’t budge. He has lifted the entire nation up,” Faisal tweeted.
Recently, Prime Minister Imran Khan was sent off from the Prime Minister’s residence. He walked out gracefully and didn’t budge. They have taken over the whole country. Proud to be a Pakistani and blessed to have a leader like him. Pakistan Khan – Imran Khan
