Center allows 50% of employees below the level of Under Secretary to work

New Delhi: According to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry on Monday, the Center has allowed 50 per cent of its employees below the level of Under Secretary to work from home amid rising cases of coronavirus.

It said that persons with disabilities and pregnant women employees are exempted from coming to the offices.

The order states that officers/employees of the central government will have to adhere to the prescribed timings- 9 am to 5.30 pm and 10 am to 6.30 pm to avoid overcrowding in offices.

In the order issued to all the departments of the Central Government, it has been said that all the officers / employees living in the Kovid Containment Zone have also been exempted from coming to the office till the Containment Zone is de-notified.

“The physical presence of government employees below the level of Under Secretary will be limited to 50 per cent of the actual strength and the remaining 50 per cent will work from home. A roster may be prepared by all the departments concerned,” the order said. ,

All officers of the level of Under Secretary and above have to attend the office on regular basis.

“Meetings, as far as possible, shall be held by video-conferencing and personal meetings with the visitors, unless absolutely necessary in the public interest,” the order said.

All officers/staff will have to ensure strict compliance of COVID-appropriate behavior. It states that frequent hand washing/sanitisation, wearing of mask/face cover, social distancing should be followed at all times.

The order said, ‚ÄúProper sanitization and frequent sanitization of workplace may be ensured, especially frequently touched surfaces. can be sure.”
