NY AG Summons Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. to Civil

The disclosure was made public Monday in a court filing where the judge scheduled a briefing to handle the dispute arising over summons for Trump’s testimony as well as for Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

The attorney general’s office previously called Trump to testify and set a January 7 deadline. Trump’s lawyers have said they will move to quash the summons.

Lawyers for Ivanka Trump and Trump Jr. did not respond to a request for comment.

Eric Trump, an executive vice president of the company, was previously summoned and provided his testimony in late 2020.

The summons to testify Trump’s children comes amid an ongoing criminal investigation into the Trump Organization and its officials and whether they have inflated the value of some of its assets. Prosecutors at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office have interviewed additional witnesses in that case in recent weeks. The New York Attorney General’s office joined with the district attorney earlier this year as part of the criminal investigation.

Representatives for the Trump Organization could not immediately be reached for comment.
