Starlink India chief Sanjay Bhargava resigns

The government recently said that Starlink Internet is not licensed to provide services in India.

New Delhi: According to a LinkedIn post, Starlink India Country Director Sanjay Bhargava has resigned from his post.

The move comes just weeks after the government said that Starlink Internet Services is not licensed to offer satellite-based Internet services in India, and advised the public to avoid services advertised by the Elon Musk-backed company. Do not subscribe to Required license in the country.

“I have stepped down as country director and chairman of the board of Starlink India for personal reasons. My last working day was December 31, 2021,” Mr Bhargava said in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday evening. He did not respond to the queries sent to him in this regard.

In November, the DoT had asked Starlink to comply with the regulatory framework for offering satellite-based communication services and refrain from booking or rendering satellite internet services in India “with immediate effect”.
