New Delhi: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday released the list of candidates for the first and second phase of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made Uttar Pradesh a riot-free state.

Expressing confidence of retaining power with a thumping majority, Pradhan while releasing the list of candidates said, “UP was once known as BIMARU state, today the same UP has emerged as No. 1 in the matter of development in the country. ”

These names are for 107 constituencies where polling will be held in the first two phases on February 10 and 14:83 are sitting MLAs of the party and 21 persons are new candidates.

The list was released during a press conference by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP national general secretary Arun Singh at the party headquarters in New Delhi.

Addressing the press conference, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, ‘We are releasing the list of candidates for 57 out of 58 seats in the first phase and 48 out of 55 seats in the second phase.

Keeping in mind the caste arithmetic balance and to gain the appeal of voters, the BJP has fielded women in 10 seats, OBC candidates in 44 seats and Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates in 19 seats, which is 60 per cent of the total. Is.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will contest from Gorakhpur seat. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will contest from Sirathu assembly constituency,” he said.

The Election Commission said that polling for 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will begin in seven phases from February 10.

In Uttar Pradesh, polling will be held in seven phases on 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP had won 312 assembly seats. The party secured 39.67 per cent vote share in the elections to the 403-member assembly. Samajwadi Party (SP) won 47 seats, BSP 19 seats, while Congress could win only seven seats.
