Virat Kohli left the post of Team India’s Test captain: Purna

Virat Kohli has stepped down as India’s Test captain. He announced the decision on his social media accounts, just a day after India lost the Test series against South Africa in the third Test in Cape Town. The decision comes just a month after the BCCI selectors decided to drop him as the captain of the team in One Day Internationals. Kohli himself had decided to step down from the city as captain in T20Is at the end of India’s campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Here is his full statement:

“It has been 7 years of hard work, hard work and tireless work everyday to take the team in the right direction. I have worked with utmost sincerity and left nothing there. Everything has to be done at some level or the other. But for me as Test captain of India, this is it now. The journey has had many ups and downs, but there has never been a lack of effort or faith. I have always tried to give my 120 per cent in everything. I have faith.
