Ashish Nehra shares his thoughts on Rishabh Pant’s idol

With the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia later this year, the Indian cricket team has already started the process of getting the right composition, especially in the batting department. In the ongoing T20I series against West Indies, the management made some notable changes in the batting order of some players. In the first T20I, Rishabh Pant came to bat at No. 4 ahead of Suryakumar Yadav. However, in the second match, Pant and Suryakumar exchanged slots.

Former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra has shared his thoughts on the change in the batting order of both the players.

Pointing out that Suryakumar plays well against spinners, Nehra said the team management made the right choice by sending him down the order instead of Pant.

Nehra said, “You are talking about a player like Suryakumar Yadav, who is a good player of spin bowling. So it is good to see that he was sent at number four. He got out but that is a different matter.” Cricbuzz.

Expressing his views on Pant, Nehra said that the youngster needs more time to hone his skills of innings-building, adding that the fewer balls he faces, the better for the team. Will happen.

“The fewer overs Rishabh Pant gets, the kind of innings he plays, which we all have seen – the kind of strokes he plays, even with one hand – so, the fewer overs he gets, the better. I will not talk about his hitting ability, which we have been doing for the last two-three years. But he will take more time to build the innings. So, a position in the lower order is better for him, or you Might put him in order. For now, he’s not someone who would get stuck in the middle.”

Pant hit an unbeaten 52 off 28 balls as India beat West Indies by 8 runs in the second T20I.

India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with the third and final T20I to be played on Sunday.
